I used to go into every interview with a printed resume and a firm handshake, now I just send a link to my Google Drive portfolio and order a coffee.

Switched after 6 months of zero callbacks in 2022, now I get replies within a week because hiring managers can actually see my work before they meet me, has anyone else noticed the old school method just doesn't hit the same anymore?

Is the coffee thing just a flex or do you actually order it after you send the link? I used to think you needed to show up in person to prove you were serious about the job, but after watching my nephew get hired for a graphic design gig just off his online portfolio, it really changed my mind. Now I keep a Google Drive link ready for when I apply for skilled labor stuff, and it saves me from printing out a dozen resumes that just end up in the trash. The hiring folks can see my work right away, and that beats any firm handshake I've ever given.

Oh man, guess my coffee runs just proved I'm good at making coffee, not getting hired.
