Warning: my buddy talked me out of trusting star ratings, and I think he was right
Last Saturday my friend Ray came over to help me sort through some old camping stuff in my garage. He asked why I had three different camp stoves, and I said the one with the best online reviews was my favorite. He laughed and said reviews only tell you how a thing works on day one, not day 100. He has used the same beat up stove since 2016 and never once looked at a rating site. Now I catch myself reading the 3 star reviews first, because that is where people say what actually broke. Does anyone else here lean on long term use over star counts?
