Vent: Blowing $80 on a camping stove that barely boiled water
I bought this ultralight stove from a small brand online, thinking it would save weight but instead it took 12 minutes to boil a cup of water. Meanwhile, my buddy's old Coleman boiled the same amount in 4 minutes. Has anyone else wasted cash on gear that just didn't perform like the reviews said?

Brought mine back after seeing a review on a backpacking forum that said the same thing. Some of those ultralight brands cut corners on the burner design to save grams but it just ends up wasting fuel. The guy who tested it said the flame pattern was too spread out for a small pot, so most of the heat just goes around the sides. That matches what I saw with mine barely bubbling after ten minutes.
