Update: I quit hauling my whole cook kit and just use one 750ml pot now
For about two years I carried a full nesting cook set on every trip, pot, pan, lids, the works, and it weighed almost 3 pounds in my pack. Last month on a trip to the Uwharrie National Forest I watched a guy boil water in a single titanium pot, eat straight out of it, and wipe it clean with a bandana. I tried it on my next trip with a $25 750ml pot I already owned and honestly I did not miss anything. I boiled water for coffee, rehydrated a bag of rice and beans, and ate out of the same pot with a long spoon. Cleanup took maybe 60 seconds with a little water and my finger. My food bag got lighter and my pack sits better on my hips now. Anyone else cut their cook kit down to one pot, and did you ever miss having a fry pan?
