Unpopular opinion: most people review camp stoves after one trip and it shows
I lent my 12 year old Coleman Peak 1 to a buddy for a weekend at Lake George and he gave it 5 stars, then the next trip the pump seal went and he was eating cold beans, so which review do you trust more, the first date or the divorce?
Think about the guy who buys a Jetboil, boils water twice in his kitchen, and writes a novel about how it changed his life. Then he takes it up Mount Marcy in 30 degree rain and the piezo won't spark and the canister freezes and he's back on the forum asking why his coffee's cold. Happens with tents too, and boots, and basically anything you only learn the truth about after a few seasons of abuse. A stove review shouldn't even count until the thing has been through a winter, a muddy spring, and whatever you do to it in July when you're too tired to clean it. So yeah, ask the guy who's had it for a decade and still complains about it, because that guy actually knows what he's talking about. The five star first date guys are just excited they didn't burn their hot dogs.
