Took my new camping lantern on a weekend trip and the battery life was way shorter than advertised. Anyone have tips for judging lantern specs?

Advertised specs are usually for the lowest brightness setting.

Noticed the same thing in a review last week. They tested a monitor and the battery life dropped by half at full brightness (which, of course, is how most people actually use it). Makes those specs pretty pointless.

Realize specs can be misleading, @jenniferj65. They test at low brightness to standardize measurements. It gives a baseline for comparison, even if real use is different.
