The night my old tent gave out at Moosehead Lake

Last October I camped at Moosehead Lake and the rain came hard around 2am. My 6 year old tent's seams just let go, water poured in like a faucet, and I spent 3 hours sitting in my car watching the puddle grow. The next morning I checked the waterproofing and it was basically dust, no amount of seam sealer was fixing that. Anyone else had a tent fail on them mid-trip and have a backup plan that actually worked?

Trash bag liner and spare tarp saved my gear. Always carry both now.
