That $60 solar lantern died on night two of a 4 day trip
I picked up a cheap solar lantern for a trip out to Moab last spring because I didn't want to haul my big LED lamp. It charged fine in the driveway before we left, but after one cloudy day in camp it barely gave off light. By the second night it was flickering like a dying candle, and we ended up using our headlamps around the table instead. Turns out the battery was only rated for maybe 200 charge cycles, not the thousands the box hinted at. I lost the $60 plus the hassle of cooking dinner in near darkness. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific brand of solar lantern that actually holds a charge for a full weekend? I'd love a recommendation before I buy another dud.
