Wait, that book was actually published in the 1890s? I thought you meant like a 70s survival guide, not something from before cars were common.
I can't imagine reading advice from someone who never saw a chainsaw or a ziplock bag. That's wild to think about how much the world has changed since then.
Makes you wonder what basic stuff they figured out that we forgot. Like how to start a fire without a lighter or find water without a GPS.
I'd be curious if their advice even works with modern tools or if it's all just "find a cave and hope for the best."
Guess some things never really change though. People still need shelter, fire, and clean water no matter what century they live in.
