My old sleeping pad went from plush to pancake in one season

I got a Therm-a-Rest NeoAir back in April and it was amazing for the first 8 trips. By September I was waking up with my hip on the ground every single night. Figured out I was storing it rolled up tight in my garage and the heat must have wrecked the foam. Has anyone else had a pad lose its loft just from bad storage?

Garage storage cooked my old Therm-a-Rest too, why don't they warn us?

Oh come on, is a slightly squished sleeping pad really something to get worked up about? I've had a couple pads get a little lumpy after sitting in my hot shed for a few seasons but they still worked fine for car camping trips. The foam might lose some loft but it's not like it turns into a puddle or anything. Is it really that big of a deal if your budget pad isn't perfect after years of abuse?

why don't they warn us?" i mean, they kind of do in the fine print nobody reads. my old therm-a-rest manual said "store in a cool, dry place" right there in tiny letters. but i get it, who reads that stuff, right? still, i think the real issue is people expect gear to be indestructible. a garage in summer hits 130+ easy, foam breaks down, it's just basic physics. blame the heat, not the company, your mileage may vary.
