Just got back from a trip to Big Bend and I'm convinced most camp stoves are overpriced junk
I cooked dinner on a $15 butane canister stove I grabbed at a gas station in Alpine, and it boiled water faster than my buddy's $200 MSR job. Anyone else think brand loyalty is just paying for marketing?

Wait, @andrew_miller90, you kept a $10 stove alive for three years?

Honestly I've been saying this for years. I used a cheap $10 camp stove from a surplus store for like three years straight and it never let me down. Meanwhile my buddy dropped $300 on some fancy jetboil system and the igniter broke after two trips. People get so caught up in brand names they forget a stove is literally just a tube that shoots gas at a pot.
