Chat with a forest ranger at Bryce Canyon changed my mind about tent stakes
He said I didn't need those 12 inch monster stakes for desert camping, just the little 6 inch ones if I angle them right. Tried it last weekend in the wind and my tent didn't budge. Anyone else ever overthink simple gear?
