Swore I'd never touch a customer's fungus-filled lens, then I did one in my kitchen sink
Found black spotting inside a 50mm a guy dropped off at my bench in Akron last Tuesday. I told him no way, fungus etches glass and it's not worth my time. He said it was his dad's, so I caved and pulled the front group. Soaked the element in a 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and ammonia for about 20 minutes, rinsed with distilled water, and the spots lifted right off with zero etching. Anyone else got a fungus recipe that actually works, or am I just lucky this one wasn't deep?
