Spent three days on a stuck film advance, all for a tiny spring...

Never underestimate how long a simple fix can take when you're impatient.

Imagine rushing through it and breaking something worse, though (we've all been there). Sometimes that impatience is just your brain properly warning you about a tricky step. Slowing down honestly saves more time in the long run.

Brain properly warning you" feels like giving our dumb impulses too much credit. Half the time it's not a real warning, it's just me being sick of a boring job and wanting it done. Slowing down can mean overthinking simple stuff until you talk yourself into a mistake. Not every shaky feeling is deep wisdom, sometimes it's just a shaky feeling. Rushing is bad, but treating every task like a bomb disposal is a waste of a Tuesday.

Replacing the drain plug on my sink turned into a two-hour mess because I forced it. I wanted it done before lunch and stripped the threads. Had to go buy a new pipe section... that feeling of rushing just makes everything worse. Sometimes you have to walk away for a bit, even if it means the job takes longer. Coming back with a clear head usually finds the simple fix you missed.
