Shutter curtain adhesive failure on a cold bench, what do you use?
I had a Ricoh 500G on the bench yesterday, and the shutter curtain adhesive just let go at around 15 degrees in my garage. Ended up using a tiny bit of rubber cement to tack it back, but it feels like a temp fix. What adhesive do you all trust for cloth curtains that see a lot of flex?
Rubber cement is actually the right call here, not a hack job. That stuff stays flexible when it dries, which is exactly what a cloth curtain needs since it folds and snaps thousands of times. Contact cement gets brittle in cold and that's probably what killed the original bond in your garage. I've seen guys swear by Pliobond but it cures stiff and you'll fight it later when the curtain starts cracking at the glue line.
