PSA: Learned the hard way that Yashica T4 lenses have a plastic light baffle inside that can crumble after 20 years
Pulled apart a dead T4 last week for a stuck shutter and found that little plastic piece literally turned to dust in my tweezers, has anyone else run into this on late 90s point-and-shoots?

Funny you should mention it, I had the same thing happen with a T4 I picked up from a thrift store. That plastic baffle was brittle and just fell apart when I touched it with a small screwdriver. What worked for me was cutting a replacement from a sheet of thin black craft plastic and gluing it in place with a tiny dab of super glue. It took a steady hand and some patience, but the camera has been working fine for two years now. Worth trying if you have the time and an old T4 lying around.
