Pro tip: I keep seeing people strip the tiny screws on old Nikon F2s because they use the wrong size driver.
After fixing a dozen of them this year, I've learned you need a JIS #00, not a Phillips, and the difference is about a 0.2mm tip width that saves the slot.

Yeah, that JIS vs Phillips thing is a total trap. It gets people on old motorcycles too, especially carburetor screws. The heads look almost the same but a Phillips will just chew them up. A good set of JIS drivers is cheap insurance for any old gear. You can find them online pretty easy now.

Ugh, learned that the hard way. Stripped a carb screw on my old Honda.

@oscarb71 know that feeling. Buddy of mine tried to fix an old Canon AE-1 last year and used a regular Phillips on the rewind knob screw. Totally rounded it out in about two turns. He was so mad, had to drill the whole thing out. I told him about JIS bits but he didn't listen. Now he keeps a set in his toolbox for any camera work. Cheap lesson in the end, only cost him the price of a new knob.
