Picked brass shims over epoxy for a loose lens mount and now I'm second guessing it
Had a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 come in with a mount that wobbled about 0.3mm, and I couldn't decide between shimming it or bedding it with epoxy. I went with brass shims cut from 0.1mm stock, three of them stacked, and it snugged up fine with no binding on the focus ring. Now I'm wondering if the shims will work loose over time on a lens that gets swapped a lot. Anyone run shims on a mount long term and had them hold up?
