I used to clean shutter blades with lighter fluid, but a drop of naphtha on a cotton swab works way better.

The lighter fluid left a residue that would sometimes slow the action down, but the naphtha evaporates clean. Anyone else made that switch?

Ever try cleaning with pure acetone? It evaporates even faster than naphtha, but you gotta be super careful because it can melt some plastics if you get it on the wrong part.

Oh man, acetone is no joke, right? I totally melted a keyboard once by accident. You ever ruin something good with it?

Keep acetone away from anything with a matte finish, trust me. Learned that the hard way trying to clean a laptop and it stripped the coating right off. Now I just use isopropyl alcohol for most things.
