A stuck shutter curtain on a Pentax K1000 turned into a two day job

I had a simple CLA request come in for an old K1000, but the second curtain was stuck halfway. Figured it was just some old grease, maybe an hour to clean. After opening it up, I found a tiny, bent spring in the curtain mechanism that wasn't even in the service manual I had. Sourcing a replacement and getting the tension right took me the rest of that day and most of the next. Anyone else run into weird, undocumented parts on these classic bodies?

Isn't that the whole point of a good clean out? You find stuff you forgot about, and it tells a story. My last one just felt like throwing away junk mail and old receipts. Maybe I'm not digging deep enough.
