Vent: It took me 8 months to get a simple wheelchair ramp approved

I needed a $400 ramp from Home Depot to feel safe getting into my own house. The county required three separate inspections and a doctor's note saying I 'really do' need a wheelchair. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of runaround for basic accessibility?

Holy crap, THREE inspections for a $400 ramp from Home Depot? That's absolutely ridiculous, man. Like, what do they need to inspect three times, whether the screws are in tight enough? And a doctor's note just to prove you really need a wheelchair, that's some next level bureaucratic nonsense right there. It's like they want to make sure you're suffering enough before they let you have basic safety. I'd be so frustrated I'd just start building it myself and deal with the fines later lol. Hope you finally got that ramp sorted out without jumping through any more hoops.

Yeah, I get the frustration but honestly those inspections probably save someone from a lawsuit if the ramp collapses. And the doctor note thing is dumb but it's probably just insurance covering their backs.
