Tried calling SSA at 8am sharp for 2 weeks straight and kept getting busy signals

I finally tried the 'request a call back' option on their website instead and got a call in 3 hours. The rep told me they process those faster than the phone queue. Has anyone else had better luck with the online callback than calling directly?

The callback option works because it puts you in a different queue that's less slammed than the phone lines. I waited almost two weeks calling every morning before I tried that and got through in a few hours too. Just make sure you have your info ready when they call because they move fast once they get you on the line.

Make sure you have your info ready" - yeah I learned that the hard way when they called and I was still digging through a pile of laundry for my account number.
