Switched to online SSA forms after my local office closed last month
I used to drive 45 minutes to the San Jose disability office every time I needed to submit paperwork. Now I'm doing everything through their online portal after they cut walk-in hours. Anyone else finding glitches with document uploads on the SSA site?

The PDF size limit got me twice last week had to split a 15 page medical record into two separate files. Make sure you clear your browser cache before uploading because it hung on me three times in a row. I started using Microsoft Edge specifically for the SSA portal because Chrome kept crashing on the document upload page. Also check that your file names don't have any special characters or spaces in them that was tripping up the system for me. If you get stuck call the national helpline and ask for the tech support team they usually pick up faster than the general number.

Yeah the browser thing is a real pain. My wife had the same problem with Chrome on the SSA site and we switched to Firefox and it worked way better for her. On the file names thing I learned that the hard way too when I tried to upload a document called "Dr. Smith's Report - Final (2).pdf" and it just sat there spinning forever. Had to rename it to just "smithreport.pdf" and it went through in like 10 seconds. The cache clearing tip is solid advice I usually do that before every session now just to be safe. At least you got through it though that's the main thing.
