PSA: SSDI backlogs hit 11 months in Sacramento, found this out the hard way
I was poking around the SSA's own data page and saw that the average wait for a hearing in the Sacramento office is now 11 months. That is just to get in front of a judge, not counting the reconsideration stage before it. I always figured the whole thing took about 6 months so this number caught me off guard. Has anyone else in NorCal seen their case drag this long, or is it moving faster somewhere else in the state?
11 months just to see a judge and that's before the reconsideration mess even happens. At this rate we'll all be collecting Medicare before we collect our first check. Sacramento really said "hold my beer" when it comes to making people wait.
