Pro tip: don't call the EDD at 8am thinking you'll beat the rush

I tried calling right when they opened on a Tuesday and sat on hold for 67 minutes before getting disconnected, so I tried again at 2pm and got a person in 15. The weird part is the 2pm rep told me afternoons are way slower because everyone assumes mornings are best. Has anyone else noticed a certain time that works better, or is it just luck?

Figured out the same thing after wasting way too many mornings on hold, and the afternoon rep I finally got said the exact same thing about mornings being the busiest. What really helped me was calling later in the week too, like Wednesday or Thursday after 2pm, because Mondays and Tuesdays seem to pile up with everyone who couldn't get through earlier. So yeah, it's not just luck, the timing thing is real and the system basically rewards you for not following the crowd.
