Paid $150 for a disability lawyer who didn't even file my paperwork on time

I hired this guy in Fresno to help with my CA disability appeal and found out he missed the deadline by two weeks after I called the office myself. Has anyone else had luck firing their lawyer and doing the paperwork solo?

Man I paid a guy $200 once to build a site and he handed me a broken template three weeks late. At some point you just gotta laugh at yourself for thinking "this time will be different.

My cousin actually paid a disability lawyer in San Diego $500 upfront and the guy missed a deadline by almost a month. She only found out because she got a letter from the judge saying her case was dismissed. Fired him that same week and did all the paperwork herself with help from a free legal clinic at the library. Took her four months but she eventually won her appeal. It was such a headache but honestly the lawyers out there taking money for nothing are the real problem. Did you end up firing your guy or just getting your money back?
