Vent: My uncle's whole "just get the dish" advice cost me a whole season

Back in 2002 my uncle told me to skip cable and just buy a satellite dish after I moved to a basement apartment in Cleveland, turns out the building faced the wrong way and I got zero signal for 6 months. I ended up paying $45 a month for basic cable anyway and missed every single WWF Raw match that spring because I refused to admit he was wrong. Anyone else get stuck with bad TV advice from a relative who swore they knew what they were talking about?
