The zip tie trick that finally stopped my coax cables from slipping
Been fighting loose coax connections on outdoor runs for ages until I tried putting a small zip tie around the connector before tightening the nut - keeps everything snug even in windstorms. Has anyone else found a weird hack that just clicks one day and saves your whole Saturday afternoon?

Stops everything from slipping even in windstorms" - man, I gotta say, that seems like a lot of drama over a coax cable. I've had outdoor runs for years and never had one slip off unless I put it together wrong in the first place. Maybe I'm just lucky or my wind isn't as serious as yours. I figure if you tightened the nut properly the first time, you shouldn't need a zip tie to bail you out on a Saturday afternoon.

Zip ties on coax is like putting a lock on a screen door.

Gavinp44's lock on a screen door comment got me chuckling, but maybe that's exactly what some of us need after our third trip up a ladder in a rainstorm. Sounds like matthew864 has never had a sneaky critter or a particularly angry gust of wind undo an afternoon's work. I've seen zip ties hold together some truly questionable life choices, so a coax cable is honestly a low-stakes use for them.
