Rant: My new compression tool snapped on a basic coax fitting in Phoenix yesterday.

One side says it's just a cheap tool, but I think maybe the fitting was out of spec. Ever have a simple job turn into a parts run because of something like that?

Snapped on a basic fitting? That's wild. Honestly sounds like the fitting was probably junk metal. I've seen cheap brass fittings just crumble under normal pressure. Makes a five minute job take all afternoon.

Wait, crumble under normal pressure? That's terrifying. I've had cheap fittings strip out or crack, but actually crumbling apart sounds like it was made of sand. Makes you wonder what they're mixing into that metal these days.

The real question is how many other fittings in the same batch are gonna do the same thing down the line lol. That's the scary part - you fix one and there's probably five more waiting to fail.
