Pro tip: The old coax crimpers are basically museum pieces now

I found my old compression tool from 2012 in a box and compared it to the one I use now. The new heads are half the size and crimp in one smooth motion, no more of that awkward two-step squeeze. Anyone still using the old style, or is it time to let go?

Actually, the old ones were compression tools, not crimpers. Crimpers for F connectors are a different thing that pinches the connector onto the cable. The two-step squeeze you mentioned is for a specific type of compression fitting.

Just splitting hairs at this point. A tool puts a connector on a cable, who cares what we call it. Seen guys use pliers in a pinch and it works fine. Not like we're doing brain surgery here.

Man, I feel seen. My old two-step crimper is still in the bottom of my bag as a backup, but @robert_green is right, it's basically a brick now. The new ones are just so much easier.
