Pro tip: stop using a hammer stapler for flat cable runs
I used to hammer staple every coax line I ran through attics in Phoenix, took forever and kept splitting the jacket. Switched to a manual cable tacker with rounded edges last year after ruining a 200 foot run on a Tuesday job. Way less callbacks and my hand doesnt ache at the end of the day. Anyone else swap tools and notice a big difference in your work?

So you're saying that rounded edges on the tacker stopped splitting the jacket? How long did it take you to give up on the hammer stapler and try something else?

Oh, you're really gonna argue the round edges fix it? I mean, honestly, have you actually tried a hammer stapler on denim or thick canvas? Because I'll take a sharp, clean cut every time over some half rounded corner that still snags on the weave. The real trick is just starting with a good, sharp stapler and not rushing the staple into the material. I'd rather deal with a split that's easy to patch than waste time hunting for some specialty tool that probably costs twice as much and does the same thing in the end. Hammer staplers are just fine if you know how to set your angle right.
