My old trainer told me 4K boxes run hotter, and now I check airflow on every single job
He came out with me on a job in Riverside last week and pointed at a 4K box I had tucked in the back of a media cabinet with 2 inches of clearance, saying the heat is what kills them before the hardware ever does. I started leaving 4 inches around every box since then, and no callbacks yet. Any of you notice more heat failures on the newer 4K units compared to the old HD ones?

Does heat really kill em though? My 4K boxes been fine crammed tight.
