Fixed a loose cable connector with a zip tie trick I learned from an electrician
Last month I had a customer call me back because their internet kept dropping out. I went out and checked the connector on the outside box and it was wiggling around. Instead of replacing the whole thing I just put a small zip tie around the base to hold it tight against the fitting. That was three weeks ago and no issues since. Has anyone else found a quick fix like that for loose connectors?

Yeah @jessicajohnson that laptop charger trick is exactly the same concept. It's funny how something so simple can solve a problem that seems like it needs a whole new part. The electrician who showed me that zip tie trick said most connection issues are just a little slack or wiggle room, nothing actually broken. People really do jump to replacing stuff without trying the easy fix first. A zip tie and five seconds of effort beats buying a new cable any day.

Loose connections happen all the time with all kinds of stuff, not just internet cables. It's usually some small thing like a worn clip or a piece of plastic that's cracked, and a zip tie fixes it without needing a whole new part. Most people overlook these simple fixes and go straight to replacing things, when a little tension or support is all it really needs.
