Fiber splice tray puzzle finally clicked after 15 tries
Kept fighting with a 12-fiber loose tube splice tray where the buffer tubes kept popping out of the clips. Tried zip ties, tape, even swearing at it, nothing held. Then this older installer I work with in Charlotte watched me struggle for 5 minutes and said, "Youre routing them like spaghetti, not like a river." He showed me to pre-bend each tube with my thumb before seating it, let it relax into the curve, then snap it in. Got the whole thing dressed in under 10 minutes on the next one. Anyone else got a weird trick for keeping buffer tubes from fighting back?

I read about that same trick in a fiber training guide once, they called it "stress relief bending" and said it's the only way to keep tubes from memory-coiling in the tray. Tried it on a 24-fiber build last week and it honestly saved me like 20 minutes of rework. The thumb pre-bend part is the key, you gotta bend it past where it needs to sit so it settles back into place. Also learned to leave a little extra slack in the tube before the clip, that way it doesn't pull itself out when the tray flexes.
