Caught a risky setup at a client's house yesterday
I was putting in a new cable line at a home in the suburbs. Found exposed wires right by the attic vent from the last guy's job. That mix of wet and power is a bad scene waiting to happen. Lately, I'm seeing this kind of messy install more around town. We gotta stay sharp and point out these hazards when we spot them.

My cousin's place had similar wiring for years without trouble. Those attic spaces often stay dry enough if the vent works right. Calling every exposed wire a hazard is just fear mongering.

Honestly, saying attic spaces stay dry if the vent works ignores how often vents fail. A blocked vent or sudden leak can create damp conditions fast, and exposed wires plus moisture is a straight path to a short circuit. Tbh, I've had to fix scorched panels from exactly this setup after a rainy season. Assuming it's safe because nothing happened yet is how avoidable accidents start.
