Watched a guy shim a whole cabinet run with cardboard at a Boise jobsite, and it still haunts me
I was doing a kitchen install in Boise back in March and the guy next to me shimmed an entire run of uppers with ripped cardboard from a box, then hit it with trim screws. I said something and he shrugged and said the drywall guy would cover it. Three weeks later the homeowner called me because two doors would not close and the face frame had twisted. I now check every cabinet I touch for cardboard before I trust anyone's work, and I keep a scrap of it in my truck to show apprentices. What is the worst shortcut you have caught someone else leaving behind on a job?
