Vent: dude at the lumber yard told me to glue everything up in one go

I tried doing a full 10-drawer chest assembly with all the glue applied at once and ended up with a nightmare of sliding panels and cursing. Has anyone else found a better way to stage big glue-ups without losing your mind?

I used to be on the other side of this too, thinking "just go fast and it'll be fine" until I tried a 6-drawer dresser and had glue drying while panels were still sliding everywhere. Now I break it into sections, like doing the bottom three drawers first, letting them set, then moving up. Also started using a slower drying glue for big stuff, gives me an extra 15 minutes to breathe before things get grabby.

Which slower drying glue did you settle on? I've been using Titebond Original forever and it's fine for small stuff but anything with more than four joints and I'm rushing like crazy. Tried the Titebond Extend once but felt like it never quite set hard enough before I started sanding. Might be worth giving it another shot if you found one that actually works for furniture builds.
