TIL a $9 rubber coupler from Ace in Fresno fixed the face frame clamp that blew apart mid glue up
I was clamping a 36 inch oak face frame last Tuesday when the old cast clamp snapped at the jaw and shot the pipe across the shop, so I drove to Ace and a retired cabinet guy in line told me to skip the $60 replacement and just slide a rubber coupler over the break, and it has held through four glue ups since, but has anyone else patched a clamp like this or is it going to bite me later?
