The shaper at the trade school demo changed my whole view on panel glue ups

I stopped by the community college wood shop open house in Akron last Friday, mostly to watch the CNC demo. But the instructor showed me their cabinet door assembly line, and they use a dowel jig and plain old Titebond, not biscuit joiners. I used to think biscuits were the only way to keep a door frame flat after clamping. Watching them knock out 40 doors in 2 hours with zero twist made me question why I've been so stuck in my ways. I tried their method on my own job today, a set of oak bathroom vanities, and the joints came out dead straight. Anyone else ditch biscuits for dowels on face frames and noticed a real difference?
