Saw a kitchen in a $2M house in Scottsdale with box store cabinets and I almost lost it
Builder slapped in particle board uppers with stapled particle board frames and the homeowner paid for custom prices. Any of you ever get called out to fix a flip job like this and what do you tell the owner?
Man, I have seen that exact thing more times than I can count and it never gets less annoying. Last year I got called out to a flip where the guy had painted over the particle board to make it look solid and the home inspector missed it completely, so I just showed the buyer the swollen bottom edge on the sink cabinet and let the water damage speak for itself. You cannot really fix that kind of shortcut without ripping it all out, so I just tell them straight that they paid custom money for builder grade junk and it is worth a conversation with whoever sold them the place.
