Rant: That Monday morning where my panel saw decided to eat a $200 sheet of walnut

Blew a 40-amp fuse and the blade caught a hidden knot, turning a perfect veneered panel into splinters before 8am. Has anyone else had a machine just nuke an expensive piece of material for no good reason?

Hold up man, are we really acting like a single $200 sheet of walnut is gonna put you out of business? Knots happen, wood is a living thing not a machined part from a factory. I've blown up way more material than that just learning how to set the fence right. Plus if you're running a panel saw that takes a 40 amp fuse you probably got some other stuff going on with your setup, maybe check the manual.

Oh yeah, that's actually a 30 amp fuse on most of those saws, not 40.

You definitely changed my mind on this one @diana_king, I always thought it was 40 but I just double-checked my own manual and you're totally right.
