Old timer told me to stop using blue tape for stain grade work
Honestly, I'd been using the cheap blue 3M painter's tape for years on stain grade maple cabinets. A guy I subbed for in Grand Rapids saw my masked edges and said 'that tape is bleeding through the grain on you, try the yellow one.' Switched to the yellow 3M delicate surface tape, $7 a roll at Sherwin Williams, and my edges are crisp now with zero soak in.

Blue tape guy here until now, you convinced me to grab the yellow stuff.
