My apprentice in Denver used a 3/4 inch roundover bit on a walnut face frame and it looked amazing.

I was setting him up for a simple chamfer, but he asked to try something different. He ran the test piece, and the soft curve just worked with the grain pattern perfectly. We ended up changing the whole job spec for the client. Has anyone else had a junior's idea totally upgrade a project?

My intern swapped in a hand rubbed oil finish once and it completely changed the feel of the piece.

My interns just break things. I'm still finding glue fingerprints from last summer's "help.

My old boss had a rule about interns and finishes, something about not letting them near the good linseed oil. That intern of yours just added about three hours of extra work to your week, minimum. Now you have to pretend you meant for it to feel that way forever. The real test is if they can actually repeat that result on the next piece.
