I finally tried a router sled for my flattening jobs
I've been doing cabinet tops with a hand plane for like 8 years now, always figured a sled was overkill for my shop. Last month I had a 36 inch walnut slab bow so bad I was about to lose 20 dollars of material, so I threw one together with some MDF and drawer slides I had sitting around. First pass came out dead flat, honestly couldn't believe it took me this long to just try it. Anyone else have a tool or jig they fought against for years and then felt dumb after using it once?
