Finally fixed a cabinet door that was driving me nuts for 6 months
I had this one upper cabinet door that would never stay closed. Every time someone walked by it would pop open like it had a grudge. I tried adjusting the hinges twice but nothing worked. Finally tore the whole thing apart last Saturday morning in my shop. Turned out the hinge cup was drilled just a hair too deep on one side, maybe a 16th of an inch. I shimmed it with a thin piece of veneer I had lying around and now it clicks shut perfect. Has anyone else dealt with a problem that small taking way too long to figure out?

Drove you crazy for six months just to find a 16th of an inch off right? Did you try anything else before you finally tore it apart or was this kind of a last resort thing?
