TIL my garage sale pile had a 3 week shelf life before it got reclaimed

I set out a box of old kitchen stuff last month, thinking people would grab it fast. Instead it sat for 3 weeks through rain and sun, and by the end the lid was warped and the measuring cups had mold. What actually worked was posting it here with a photo and saying 'porch pickup, first come'. Has anyone else had items linger longer than they figured, or do I just live on a slow street?
