Shoutout to the person who put a working bread machine on the curb last week
I grabbed it on a whim and it actually makes perfect loaves. Problem is now I have way too much bread and no idea who to give it to. Anyone else ever end up with more stuff than you know what to do with after a curb find?

Flip that around and ask yourself why you're suddenly the neighborhood bread fairy. You grabbed some junk off the curb and now you're stuck making endless loaves for strangers, plus you probably spent more on flour and yeast than the machine is worth. Face it, that "free" bread maker is just a new chore with a fancy lid.

Has anyone actually tried just setting some ground rules with the neighbors, @parkerh38? I grabbed a bread machine from a garage sale a few years back and it sat in my cabinet for months because I felt the same way. But then I started using it just for myself on weekends and told folks around me I was only doing special requests for holidays. It turned out to be less of a chore and more of a fun thing once I stopped feeling obligated. Now I make a loaf every other week and nobody expects me to be their personal bakery. The machine ended up paying for itself pretty quick with how much store bread costs around here.
