My washer died mid-cycle and I found an unexpected fix
Last Tuesday our washing machine just stopped spinning with a full load of wet clothes. I was about to call a repair guy since the quote was around $150 for a visit alone. Then I checked the Buy Nothing group and someone was giving away a similar model's motor that they'd pulled out before scrapping theirs. I swapped it in this weekend with a friend's help and it works perfectly now. Has anyone else scored a part this way instead of paying for repairs?

Whoa, wait. You actually swapped out a motor from a stranger's scrap pile on a Buy Nothing group? That's wild. I can barely change a light bulb without calling someone, let alone rewire a washing machine motor. My brain is honestly struggling to process that you just... did that. The fact that it worked on the first try is the most shocking part to me, because my luck would have it catching fire or something. Massive respect, but also I'm slightly terrified of you now.
