Blender lid launch sent banana shake everywhere, giving it away

Last Tuesday I tried to make a smoothie with my old Oster blender and the lid popped off after 4 seconds, coating my kitchen wall in banana and spinach. I cleaned for an hour and decided this thing is cursed, so it's on the curb for anyone who wants a high speed mess maker. It still works fine, just don't fill it past the 3 cup line or you'll get a free indoor rain show. Anyone else had a kitchen gadget that just turned on you one day for no reason? Honestly, "indoor rain show" is the best description I've heard all week. Ngl, I'm kinda impressed it made it a full 4 seconds before launching, my old blender would've exploded in the first second. I had a toaster that randomly decided to only toast one side of the bread, so I'd get this warm soggy half and a burnt top. That thing went straight to the curb too, no regrets.
