Switched from leather work belts to nylon webbing 3 years ago
I used to buy a new $50 leather belt every 9 months because they sagged and cracked from carrying a tool pouch on a roof. Then I grabbed a $20 nylon rigger's belt from a safety supply store and it's still going strong with zero stretch. Has anyone else made the swap and found the nylon holds up way longer, or do you stick with leather and just replace it more often?

My leather belts always sagged too so I switched to a cheap nylon one and it's lasted years without any issues.

Nylon's the way to go honestly. Haven't looked back since I made the switch either.

Yeah I remember reading something about how nylon belts actually hold up better in humid weather because they don't soak up moisture like leather does. That really stuck with me cause I live in a pretty damp area and my leather belts always got that funky smell after a while. Kinda makes sense now why so many people are switching over.
